Certifications and Compliance

Griffin & Strong has established itself as a leader in contract compliance by harnessing a dynamic understanding of the law from two vital perspectives - legislation and its direct impact on businesses.

We regularly draft legislation, conduct studies for governments, and specialize in helping clients obtain minority, women, disadvantaged, and 8a certification. Our clients trust us to ensure compliance, allowing them to focus on their work. We make it our mission to avoid disputes, but when they occur we have a successful record of representing our clients in the administrative hearing process.

Supplier Diversity

Recent projects include:

  • Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • The College Football Hall of Fame

  • The National Center for Civil and Human Rights

  • The New World of Coca-Cola

  • Fedex Forum (Memphis, TN)

Simply put, a diverse supplier is any business that is owned and operated by an individual or group that is part of a traditionally underrepresented or underserved population. These businesses are often collectively referred to as minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs).

Griffin & Strong has a long record of developing and implementing effective supplier diversity initiatives. These initiatives empower all citizens to have an equal opportunity to compete for business opportunities in the public and private sectors. We are committed to providing the full range of services necessary to ensure that a project is delivered on time and within budget.

Our professional resources for leadership and critical decision-making have enabled many clients to move large-scale projects seamlessly through the beginning stages of the master planning process and into the design and construction phases.

Clients achieve their diversity goals with the help of our strategic implementation services. These supporting services include: setting contract by contract goals for MWBE participation; reviewing bonding requirements; and, identifying areas of opportunity in targeted outreach programs for minority- and women-owned firms.

Our proficiency in contract compliance guarantees your next program fully aligns with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to disadvantaged minority, and women-owned businesses.

Public Policy Consulting

Griffin & Strong is a prominent force in policy consulting and disparity research analysis at a national level. Our findings lead to tangible results, setting us apart as the sole law firm equipped to address the issues identified in disparity research studies with actual legislation.

G&S’s public policy consulting division is uniquely proficient in every stage and aspect of policy research and application, from analysis to drafting legislation, to program implementation. We apply a hands-on approach to the programs we design, and foster a practical learning environment for staff, ensuring seamless integration of new functions, tasks, and work processes arising from legislative changes spurred by our studies.

Experienced and Skilled

Attorney Rodney K. Strong procured and managed one of the first disparity studies in 1989, following the city of Richmond v. J.A. Croson Co.488U.S.469, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that made these studies necessary.

As a law firm, our primary expertise lies in effectively countering any legal challenges that may arise against our new legislative initiatives. In order to sustain success with high-quality disparity studies and quantitative research, we must endeavor to understand the specific legal and political environment of each government client. As a result, we apply an open and flexible approach to develop policy options that are able to survive intense legal and political scrutiny.
