Guilford County (NC) To Adopt MWBE Policy As Result Of GSPC Disparity Study
Guilford County is increasing its commitment to hiring women- and minority-owned businesses following the findings of a Griffin & Strong, P.C. disparity study, according to reports.
The Rhino Times reports that based on the results of the year-long study, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners in February moved to ad five position s to the MWBE Department which has been operating with only three staffers.
The motion to, “Adopt the MWBE Policy and authorize the County Manager to implement the MWBE Administrative manual,” came in February after the GSPC-produced study found evidence supporting the County’s use of race- and gender-conscious measures and the continuation of its MWBE Program.
The County is adopting GSPC’s recommendation to draft the first MWBE policy, according to reports.
